My Failure as an Artist, Part I

I’ll cut right to the point with this picture:

I drew this for a birthday card for my best friend a while back. I am currently working on her birthday card for 2018 (it’s going to be 20+ pages, which will exceed the page count for all previous years), and it is horrid. My drawing has not improved AT ALL.

This is the only example I have right now. All other drawings I’ve either given away (read: forced onto my friends whether they wanted it or not) or lost (but is it really a loss if it’s a terrible drawing nobody wants?).
