The Arbor Restaurant Review

The other day, my boyfriend and I wanted to hang out.
Since we’re both mutable signs (he’s a Gemini and I’m a Pisces), we were very adaptable and came up with a plan on the spot. He had a cracked phone he had to fix, so we went to GoMobile in West Broadway. There was a sign by the window that said “if you liked it you should’ve put a case on it” and I pointed it out to my boyfriend, because he is notorious for not using a phone case. He paused, looked at me, then said “the problem is, I can’t find a case for you.”
Anyway, this GoMobile store was such a beautiful place–very counterintuitive because it seemed more like a cafe than a phone repair shop. The guy at the desk, Curtis, was super friendly and knowledgeable. He talked about doing his masters in anthropology.

Curtis also told us that his boss wanted the cool decor to be different from a typical cell phone store.

I left a review of this place, so my boyfriend got $5 his cell phone repair cost.
While the phone was being fixed, we walked around.
I took a lot of photos.

Sadly, most shops were closed because it was around 5:30pm or so.

I love this area because of the beautiful murals.

I saw a lot of cool stickers around this area.

I love exploring Vancouver.
After we got my boyfriend’s fixed phone back, we went to a restaurant called The Arbor.

I ordered the artichoke nuggets (vegan) and my boyfriend ordered the poutine with mushroom gravy.

The nuggets were good and I felt healthy after eating them, but they were a bit spicy for me. My friend has repeatedly told me that I have the spice tolerance of an egg, so don’t let my sensitive taste buds deter you from trying this place. I think my boyfriend liked his poutine–he was closing his eyes a lot. I remember because I was so envious of his long eyelashes.
For dessert, we tried the chocolate mousse parfait (it had coconut and lemon in it as well).
It was delicious. I thought it tasted better than the artichoke nuggets I had.
I ate the flower and it tasted like a non-minty version of mint. It was a very interesting experience.
I also had to yell at the waitress not to give the credit card machine to my boyfriend because it was my turn to pay. I feel a little bad about that.
After that, my boyfriend and I took a walk around. He couldn’t stop hiccupping and because he was trying to suppress his hiccups, every time he hiccupped he’d make a really funny sound. I was laughing so hard tears were in my eyes.
Anyway, I’d give this place a 7/10. It’s a small, niche place but I’ve tried better vegan food.
